Improve dog welfare in Europe

Dog welfare in EuropeWe need your help to improve dog welfare in Europe.

The European Parliament is discussing a proposal to improve the way that dog populations are managed in the 27 European member countries. They want to stop inhumane methods of collecting and killing dogs and start a mandatory method of dog identification. This will also help Britain which does not have mandatory identification or dog licensing, but is discussing introducing new systems.

The proposal needs the support of 369 Members of the European Parliament (MEP) if it is to succeed. Currently it has 140 signatures. We have until 6 October to increase this.
